Frequently Asked Questions

  • Numida finances businesses with daily sales and expenses, such as retail/wholesale shops, salons, clinics, spare parts businesses, and more. This is a business loan, so there must be proof of an active business to qualify. Your business should be at least 6 months old.

  • To qualify, you’ll need:

    • A smartphone

    • A phone number registered in your name (matching your National ID)

    • Photos of your National ID/passport/driver’s permit

    • A signpost of your business (if available)

    • Photos of your business (inside and outside)

    • A photo of you at the business premises

    • A confirmed business location

    • Sample receipts/invoices (for repeat loans)

    • A valid trading license or proof of ownership

    2. In the app, go to ‘LOAN’ and tap ‘APPLY FOR LOAN’

    3. Complete your application – we’ll get in touch within 24–72 hours

  • First loans range from UGX 250,000 to UGX 10,000,000, depending on your business size. Over time, and with good repayment behavior, this can grow up to UGX 30,000,000.

  • We currently offer flexible terms of 15, 30, 45, and 60 days, even on your first loan.

  • Interest ranges from 13% to 25% for one month, based on your credit profile. These rates may reduce as you build a solid repayment history.

    • Record daily business sales, purchases, and expenses in the app

    • Make partial payments whenever possible

    • Repay your loan on time
      This helps us better understand your business and increase your limit.

  • In the app, your loan application may show as:

    • Submitted – application completed

    • Verifying – Numida has received your application

    • Reviewing – a loan officer will contact you

    • Approved – loan approved

    • Dismissed – application declined with reason

  • You can repay through the app using mobile money.
    Steps:

    1. Load the amount on your registered mobile number

    2. Open the Numida App and tap Repay

    3. Follow the prompts to complete your payment

    MTN Mobile Money Instructions:

    • Dial *165# → Select 4. Payments4. Goods & Services

    • Enter Merchant Code: BEYONIC

    • Enter Reference: NUMIDA

    • Enter your amount and complete payment

    Airtel Mobile Money Instructions:

    • Dial *185# → 4. Pay Bill9. Others

    • Enter Business Number: 998998

    • Enter Reference: NUMIDA

    • Enter the amount and your PIN to confirm

  • Late payments attract daily penalty fees on the outstanding balance, starting one day after the due date.
    Please make partial payments if you can, and contact your credit officer to work out a payment plan.

    • Option 1: Uninstall and reinstall the app, then reapply with the correct info.

    • Option 2: Go to MORE > SETTINGS > ACCOUNT, update your details, and tap SAVE ACCOUNT.

  • Please note that there are late penalty fees on the outstanding balance if you are unable to clear your loan on time. This is why we encourage clients to make a partial payment to reduce the balance.

    Penalty fees start being charged the next day after the loan is due and every day there is an outstanding balance.

    2. Tap Update

    3. Follow prompts to take and upload the required photos

    Ensure all images are clear and taken live (no gallery uploads)

  • No. Only new photos taken within the app are accepted to confirm you’re at your business premises.

  • You must be physically present at your business location to take the required photos. Please return when you are at your premises to complete your application.

  • Try the following:

    • Ensure your line is active and has network

    • Check if the SIM card is in the phone you're using for the app

    • Make sure your inbox isn’t full

    • Re-enter the correct phone number

  • On the app’s Home Screen, tap the Update button at the top right.
    If it fails, check your internet connection and try again.

  • Numida only gives loans to existing businesses that have been operating for at least 6 months.

    • Select Apply for Loan
